2018 in Review – Year 14

Winter –  What happened to fall?

This year has been one for the books. To start the season off, in April the lake was solid ice until the 20th when it started to soften it melted from the underside. By May 1st the bay was out to the beach and 4 days later – gone! Then had sunshine and 70’s before June. No spring!

The summer was absolutely beautiful, perfect with sunshine, warm sandy beach, children laughing, families fishing and joy in my heart. To be the witness of it all, the memories are priceless.

The summer brought families from, FL, TX, MO, IA, ID, CA and a few other states, we love to visit and hear the stories. Some have been coming for over 50 years, with many great memories of Little Boy.

NEW FISHING REGULATIONS went over well, very happy to report that we lost track of the catch and release total. Thanks to all of you great sportsmen and women, it will only help our lake and the fishing for years to come.

Growing with the times

New upgrade on the WIFI, 5 secure locations throughout the resort.

Our newest cabin, Bears Den, located just north of the beach, “the cabin next door”, was a hit in 2018. There are pictures on the website and the availability is listed there also. It has 4 bedrooms and 2 baths, and all the amenities of home. Outside grill, fire pit, dock, and a quiet little beach. Guests say “Our little piece of heaven for a week” “So quiet and the view is spectacular”.

Sunset Cabins on Lake Wabedo

These 4 little cabins have been great. Just the necessities, a sandy little beach, a few water toys, good fishing, and beautiful sunsets. We are happy to offer these semi-modern cabins for those who enjoy exactly that.

Our Family Update

Our Texas boy, Dillon, is working hard in the real estate world. He was awarded “Agent of the Year” with Keller Williams. He made it home for 10 days the end of June & Oct. to visit with guests and help out around the resort. Jordan, along with her boyfriend Robert decided to move to MN this summer. It has been wonderful! She works remotely for UNATION, a company based in Tampa and helps out here when she can. Robert worked for us and at the One Stop, we are so fortunate to have them both here. For Troy and I, we enjoy our time in Florida in the winter, playing golf, biking, long strolls on the beach and exploring Florida. In April we did some hiking in the Smokey Mountains. Gatlinburg, TN is a beautiful piece of the USA.

As much as I do like to snowshoe and cross country ski, I am not happy to have snow and 30 degree days at the beginning of October. But, we will make the best of it and enjoy whatever comes our way.

AND FOR YOU…Enjoy life, enjoy your family, make memories and most of all have fun!

MAY YOUR HEARTS BE FILLED WITH LOVE & JOY THROUGHOUT THE YEAR

Hooked on Resorting, Troy, Nancy, Dillon & Jordan

  1. We stayed in Bears den again this year. It was great to have such a great place to spend the week. Every one on the friendly staff made sure to make the cabin n area was freshen up all the time. It was great to see all the equipment available for all to enjoy. We shall return again. Thanks for giving our many family members to enjoy our time at Little Boy. Roger & Carol S
